现在，我们国家处于困难时期。我们是国家的主人，应该处处为国家着想，事事要精打细算，不能今朝有酒今朝醉，明日愁来明日忧。我们要奋发图强，自力更生，克服当前存在的暂时困难，坚决反对大吃大喝，力戒浪费。
Now, our country is in difficult times. As the masters of our country, we should always think of it and pinch pennies in everything. We can’t just enjoy the present and leave our worries for tomorrow. We must work hard and be self-reliant to overcome the temporary difficulties we are facing. Being extravagant in eating and drinking should be firmly opposed and waste must be avoided resolutely.
在物质蓬勃发展的现代生活下，我们不能忘记，是那些旧时的补丁，铺就了现在的锦绣山河；是一双双翻开的胶鞋，才走出了如今的康庄大道。每一粒米、每一件衣服背后，是以雷锋同志为代表的革命先辈们的血泪与奉献。只有不忘来时路，才能走好脚下路，坚定未来路。
In modern life with abundant wealth, we should not forget that it is the patches of the old time that pave the way for the current beautiful landscape of our country; it is in pairs of broken rubber shoes that we now come to the road to prosperity. Behind every grain of rice and every article of clothing are the blood, tears and dedication of the revolutionary forefathers represented by Comrade Lei Feng.
